Project Description
Burlington Waugh’s involvement with the National Museum Of Scotland started with the occasional maintenance visit when our director worked as a service engineer for the large AV installer Northern Light who were based in Edinburgh.
In 2011 Philips won the lighting controls contract for ‘MP2’ of the museums phased upgrade program and Burlington Waugh were subcontracted to programme the newly installed Dynalite system, the refurbishment program included the Grand Gallery, converted basement level and over a dozen other gallery spaces.
In 2016 and 2019 Phases 3 and 4 were carried out and each time Burlington Waugh were brought in to advise on and commission the ever-expanding Dynalite system.
In 2017 with commercial support from Philip’s we started a full network upgrade programme and over a 2-year period brought the entire museum building under the control of the Philips Dynalite Lighting Control System ‘System Manager’
As a Signify Value Added Partner, we offer a full turnkey solution to the museum and have completed numerous upgrade and maintenance works including recently replacing the Grand Gallery high level RGB fittings and installing a full DMX control system with Dynalite APP for event staff to utilise.
During the period we have worked on the Museum we have built an exceptionally good relationship with many members of staff and will always consider the building a privilege to work in.
App Control: Functions and functionality.
The Dynalite App allows Events Staff to set the lighting in the Grand Gallery without the need for engineering staff, Track lighting and colour changing is available with a very simple iPad user interface and any custom designed scene can be saved for easy recall at a later date.
