Project Description

Burlington Waugh began a lighting replacement programme in the Hospital in 2012, the remit was to replace the old fluorescent lighting in corridors, plant rooms and office spaces with a modern LED equivalent, improve control and save energy where possible.

Philips Dynalite was the chosen controls platform, and the system was designed around DALI luminaires in all spaces.

Long Range sensors were installed in all corridors for motion detection and photocell operation, adjoining office spaces were fitted with DPN series Wall Plates and Multisensors.

Plantrooms were fitted with 4000K Coreline LED Battens, motion detectors and override switches.

All of this was programmed with Philips ‘Mapview’ Software, which provides full system management and reporting and a simple to use interface for engineering staff.

Over the next 8 years Burlington Waugh were invited back onsite to upgrade the large office blocks attached to the hospital, Meeting rooms and Boardrooms were added and in 2018 the main link between the hospital and the Beardsmore Hotel was tied into the system.

Known as ‘hospital street’ the (fluorescent) cove lighting was replaced with 6000k LED tape and Coreline 600 x 600 recessed LED panels, the area is operated by Dynalite DUS804C multi-sensors which provide both motion detection and daylight harvesting through the sensors photocell functionality.

Additional
